Breathing effort

The first way to set a regulator that is easy to breathe is to lower the burst pressure as much as possible without causing freeflow even at the maximum allowable intermediate pressure.

Micro-vacuum test

Since the burst pressure is a micro-vacuum pressure, the repairman must first test the second stage regulator for leaks with a micro-vacuum and then set the burst pressure.
